Hi, my name, is Brittany Williams the founder of Fly with Style. I’m a full-time WIC nutritionist and a mother of a handsome 8-year-old son. My love for nutrition all started in my earlier years. Growing up in Jamaican culture, food was significant in my household. I saw my grandmother cook five days out of the week, with our Sunday meals resembling Thanksgiving dinners. In fact, after high school I went to Suny Delhi to start my career in culinary arts as I often thought to myself that since my fondness for food is so great, why not be a chef? However, I was not fond of that field; the kitchen was too hot and I didn’t enjoy cooking as much as I presumed. Therefore, I returned back home and decided to further my studies in dietetics and nutrition. While obtaining my undergraduate degree, I worked at Mount Sinai as a Dietary Aide and that is when my love for helping people obtain a healthy lifestyle developed. The Hippocrates quote, “let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food,” was in fact the cure for many patients. I watched many people come into the hospital and leave ten times healthier with the right diet and care. That’s when I ultimately knew I wanted to obtain a career as a dietitian. Subsequent to receiving a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition from Lehman College, I was promoted to work as a WIC-qualified nutritionist for The Institute of Family Health and resigned from Mount Sinai. I was a WIC Nutritionist for one year but my time ended due to the pandemic. Then rehired after the pandemic.
However, my love for traveling has always been at an all-time high but during the pandemic did embark on a new love for it. I finally had all the free time. I have been to places such as Jamaica, Costa Rica, Cancun, Cabo, Aruba, California, Vegas, and Florida but never could stay long due to work. During the pandemic, I stay at a place for 10 days at times. One time I went to Jamaica when returning back to the states and had to stay in Miami for additional days due to the weather. I could say that was one of my best trips so far. So, spontaneous and unexpected. Traveling has always been a way for me to learn about new cultures, try new foods and meet new people. When traveling to a new place I always do 2 things try the authentic foods and do an excursion. My motto is you’re not going to come right back so make sure to do everything while you are there.
Nonetheless, when I first lost my job during the pandemic I was devastated, this was my only source of income, and didn’t know what to do next. I went to Jamaica for my son’s 8th birthday and got signed up with an agency at the Moon Palace Hotel during my stay there. What encouraged me to sign up was the sales lady, Sasha, stating how since she has been with the agency she’s been the main provider of her family, which resonated with me so well.

It is a quote from Karen Lamb, “a year from now you will wish you had started today,” that ultimately encouraged me to start my business. Fly with Style is my safety net, or some can say another source of income in the event we experience another pandemic.
Overall, Fly with Style isn’t just a travel service, it’s my lifestyle. Growing up with Jamaican parents I was forced to travel at least three times a year and that’s where my love for flying started. I see traveling as a form of teleporting; one minute you’re in the slums of the Bronx and the next you’re on a tropical island. Traveling is a way for me to escape from my reality and now I’m trying to help others see the bigger picture as well.
